Braze Mobility and Our Innovative Blind Spot Sensor System

Founded in 2016, Braze Mobility provides effective navigation for wheelchair users.

Our founder spent more than a decade researching smart wheelchairs to understand:

  • How to make wheelchairs safer
  • How to increase user independence

Braze Mobility provides an affordable navigation solution for wheelchair users. Our blind spot sensors enable our clients to the avoid the embarrassment, damage or injury that can occur when they are moving around. The solution automatically detects obstacles and provides intuitive audio, visual and vibration alerts to the wheelchair driver, so that they understand the location of an object and how close it is, while staying fully in control.

Our solution provides peace of mind and confidence to our users.

The Story behind the Braze Mobility Blind Spot Sensor System

Our passion to create accessible technologies began upon visiting a long-term care facility. We noticed that several residents had limited mobility due to physical impairments, and were being denied powered mobility devices due to safety concerns. We saw this as a violation of a fundamental human right.

Our Mission

We are dedicated to increasing independence, safety, and overall quality of life for people living with mobility impairment. We engage with our end-users throughout the design process in order to create accessible and innovative technologies that are affordable and easy to use.
